Urban and Regional Research Division focuses on a wide range of themes
including individual plans, master plans, and general project plans related
to urban structures, land use, transport systems, urban facilities, environment,
and amenity, as well as helpful information for planning and the use
and design of new systems.
Based on recent trends for the diversification and complexity of urban
and regional issues, and the decentralization of power and freedom of
information, the Division is tackling surveys and research in collaboration
with specialists and research institutes in relevant fields in order
to advance building and realization of new theories, systems, and planning
methods including coexistence with the environment, regional redevelopment
and vitalization, strengthening of administrative and information networks,
and aid for consultative urban development.
