The Institute has been contributing extensively to public services through
research activities.
The Secretariat supports the environment to achieve
high-quality and highly efficient research. It also functions as an interface
with external organizations and promotes public services and other related
activities of the Institute.
Research activities are conducted at a high
level under the cooperation from not only within the Institute but also
extensively from universities and external research organizations.
To
promote further interchange and cooperation, ,ultimately research activities,
the Secretariat gathers and releases various information and research
results from either internal or external sources; it promotes the activities
such as seminars, symposiums, and workshops providing a place for interchange
and exchange.
The Secretariat promotes direct and indirect support for
research activities. It also promotes research grant system such as IBS
Fellowship, acceptance of students form home and abroad as interns, and
interchanges with related academic societies.
For the promotion of the
Institute’s public services at a high
level, the Secretariat improves the environment for internal research
(the level of research infrastructure, such as IBS WEB, IBS Net, and
Library data information). In addition, it smoothly manages and controls
the Institute, handles various desk works, and formulates business plans.
■Main Activities of the Secretariat
- Formulation of business plans for the Institute
- Supporting research activities (releasing information both internally
and externally, gathering information, and promotion of research meetings,
etc)
- Supporting research activities (promotion of IBS Fellowship, internship,
etc.)
- Improving research environment (improvement and management of IBS
Web, IBS Net, Library data information, etc.)
- Conducting various desk work related to management and day-to-day
management of the Institute (contracts, accounting, and general affairs,
etc.)
